Acne Laser & Light Therapies

Our office has two advanced systems to treat acne:

BLU-U Acne Light Therapy

(Blue Light Photodynamic Therapy)

This procedure is pain-free and there is no down-time. Full-face and neck treatments take approximately 15 minutes. The BLU-U acne light works with all skin types (I-VI) and it is just fine if you have a suntan! Blue light photodynamic therapy acts by killing acne causing bacteria.

This light is comparable to other acne light treatments such as the Clearlight™ and the Omni-Lux™, but our blue light is much more reasonably priced. more information

StarLux 500 Acne Laser System

The StarLux 500 Acne Laser System works on active acne by killing the P. acnes bacteria and it works in a separate manner on the sebaceous (oil) glands. The StarLux 500 system is often beneficial to individuals with very resistant acne who have not had success with medications.

Our StarLux 500 acne treatment works best on skin types I-III.

This series of treatments consists of four treatments at two week intervals. A maintenance program including a 3 to 6 month interval treatment and/or medication may be recommended depending on the individual. more information
